Treatment Planning
Based on our conversation, we’ll create a treatment plan just for you.
Treatment
Your treatment will be in one of our comfortable treatment rooms. Our highly trained and experienced aestheticians will first map out your face or neck or other areas to be treated. We will apply an ultrasound gel to the skin. The device delivers the ultrasound heat in small sections at a time. We will continuously monitor your treatment on the ultrasound screen to insure the exact placement of the pulses. Newer Ultherapy protocols have improved the discomfort associated with Ultherapy. However, we offer all of our patients complimentary nitrous oxide (“laughing gas) for their comfort.
Follow Up
We will schedule a follow-up appointment for 6 months after your treatment.

Am I a candidate?
A suitable candidate for Ultherapy is someone with some degree of skin laxity. Typically, those in their 30s and older who have mild-to-moderate skin laxity are candidates. While Ultherapy is not a replacement for a surgical facelift, there are many people who want some facial lifting but are not ready for surgery. There also are younger people who want to “stay ahead of the game,” as well as patients wanting an aesthetic maintenance option.
How many sessions will it take?
Typically, only one session is necessary.
Will I have to take off work?
No, most people can return to work the same day.
How long will the procedure take?
Approximately 20 to 60 minutes per area.
Does Ultherapy hurt?
There is typically mild-to-moderate discomfort, which we can address with Pro-Nox (nitrous oxide/ “laughing gas”) or premedicating with an oral medication.
What is Pro-Nox?
Pro-Nox is a patient-controlled analgesia delivering a 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide mixture for in-office use. It takes effect in seconds, offering immediate relief from any discomfort and anxiety.
Is there pain or discomfort after the procedure?
Typically, none to just mild discomfort or “tightness”.
What is used for pain management after the procedure?
Most do not need any pain medication after the treatment. Some may elect Tylenol or Advil-type medications.
Do I need a driver?
No, you can drive yourself to and from our office.
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes.
When will I start seeing results?
You may notice a short-term “boost” immediately following your Ultherapy treatment. However, the natural process of creating new, more elastic, collagen builds over time with results improving over the course of 2-3 months and even up to 6 months.
