Halo Body in Edina & Bloomington

Halo is a hybrid laser that produces fractional ablative results with non-ablative downtime by applying both wavelengths in a single pass.

Ablative lasers work by removing the outermost layers of dead and damaged skin, while non-ablative lasers pass through the skin’s upper layers to heat the deeper tissues, stimulating collagen.

These combined actions make the Halo laser particularly effective for improving skin texture, tone, and overall appearance by addressing skin laxity, stretch marks, age spots, wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation. Halo Body Overview

Halo by Sciton is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, offering a groundbreaking approach to skin rejuvenation. It uniquely combines non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to treat the same area during a single session, effectively improving signs of aging with just one or two treatments.

The ablative wavelength addresses surface-level issues like texture and pore size, while the non-ablative wavelength penetrates deeper to tackle sun damage and pigmentation concerns. This dual action creates controlled thermal injuries in the skin, prompting the rapid production of new, healthy skin. Halo is versatile enough to treat various areas, including the neck, chest, hands, arms, legs, and face, effectively targeting scar revision, sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Choosing Halo Body

Choosing Halo Body means choosing the latest laser technology for your skin. Our expert team customizes each session to your needs. They ensure effective treatment for crepey skin, stretch marks, and age spots.

With minimal downtime, Halo Body is perfect for anyone looking to revitalize their appearance without long recovery periods. Trust in a solution that combines innovation, precision, and care.

Halo Body vs. Similar Procedures

Halo Laser treatments offer remarkable skin improvements with minimal downtime, a notable advantage over traditional fractional resurfacing. One session can significantly diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration while refining skin tone and texture. It also reduces scars and enhances conditions like Melasma.

This quick and comfortable procedure requires only a topical anesthetic, allowing a quick return to your routine within 24 hours.

Traditional laser resurfacing presents two approaches: ablative and non-ablative. Ablative lasers, like CO2, remove the top skin layer and stimulate collagen, yielding dramatic results but necessitating significant downtime. Non-ablative lasers offer a gentler alternative with multiple treatments and minimal downtime, yet often require several sessions for noticeable results.

The innovative Sciton Halo Laser combines the benefits of both options. As the first Hybrid Fractional Laser, it delivers ablative-quality results with non-ablative downtime, enhanced skin tone, reduced hyperpigmentation, and a youthful appearance in just 1-2 treatments, all with little recovery period.

What To Expect After Halo Body

After a Halo laser treatment, you can expect some swelling. This swelling typically begins immediately after the procedure and may persist for 5 to 7 days, varying with the intensity of the treatment. The peak swelling usually occurs within 48 to 72 hours post-treatment. To alleviate any discomfort, applying a cold compress can be effective. It’s common to experience a sensation like a sunburn in the treated areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Halo Body uncomfortable?

This varies from patient to patient. Some find it to have no discomfort. Some find it to be mildly uncomfortable. Others find it to be very hot and prickly.

How long will I feel warm?

The first ten to fifteen minutes are the most uncomfortable. Gradually the heat dissipates and will be totally gone in about two to three hours.

What is used for pain?

We apply topical numbing for an hour prior to the procedure, and for most patients, it is sufficient to control pain. If needed, we can offer you Nitrous Oxide (“laughing gas”). We also may prescribe a mild relaxing medication in certain cases.

What should I expect right after the treatment?

The treated area will be red for the first three days (longer if the treatment is more aggressive) and will feel like a sunburn.

On the second and third days, as the dead skin cells move toward the top layer of the skin, you will notice fine little dark dots that may last up to two weeks before resolving. Your skin will have some mild peeling and feel a little like sandpaper on days two and three.

What do I use for after care?

We will provide complimentary skin care products with instructions to use for the next two weeks.

Can I peel off those little brown dots?

We do not recommend aggressive exfoliating of the skin as it is healing. However, gentle brushing with a washcloth when cleansing the skin is acceptable to reduce flaking.

When do I see the results?

As soon as 1 to 2 weeks after the Halo treatment, you may see results. The stimulation of hyaluronic acid, in addition to better light reflectivity of the skin, contributes to this wonderful result. You will continue to appreciate pleasant changes for at least three months after the treatment.

How often can I do a Halo treatment?

We recommend waiting at least one month between Halo procedures.

Is the Halo good for darker skin tones?

Yes, Halo can be used on most patients with darker skin.

What skin concerns can Halo Body address?

The Halo treatment effectively tackles various skin concerns, including vascular lesions, pigmentation irregularities, sunspots, and textural issues. It also helps diminish the appearance of scar tissue, stretch marks, age spots, and skin laxity—all in a single modality.

How many Halo Body treatments are recommended for best results?

The ideal number of Halo treatments varies based on skin conditions and desired outcomes. While everyone experiences noticeable improvements after just one session, some individuals may require two to three treatments to achieve optimal results.

How long does a typical Halo Body treatment session last?

A typical Halo laser treatment session lasts about 30 minutes, but the exact duration can vary depending on the targeted areas and the specific skin condition being addressed.

What is the recovery time for Halo Body?

Recovery time generally ranges from 5 to 7 days. During the initial days, you might experience redness, particularly if the treatment is more intensive, and your skin may feel like it has a sunburn. By the second and third days, as dead skin cells rise to the surface, expect to see tiny dark spots appearing.

Your skin will likely undergo mild peeling and a rough, sandpaper-like texture. Swelling may also occur. The redness and small brown spots typically clear up within two weeks.

How soon after the treatment can I shower?

To ensure optimal results, avoid getting shampoo on the treated area for a few days after your treatment. You can shower in the morning after using a medical-grade gentle soap and warm, not hot, water.
